Sam Brizzi is carrying one of Aussie boxing’s greatest legacies.

The Brizzi Brothers started their gym in a Collingwood shed 58 years ago. What began as a tough little neighbourhood boxing club has turned into one of the most respected gyms in the country. Cos Brizzi has passed, but Benny Brizzi, a deadset living legend, is still holding pads nearly six decades on. At 78 years old, he’s in there every day shaping fighters the same way he always has with discipline, respect, and proper old-school toughness.

Sam grew up in that world. He was banned from boxing as a kid because of epilepsy, forced to watch from the sidelines while his family trained champions. But that didn’t stop him. Now he’s coaching Olympians, turning street kids into fighters, and keeping the Brizzi Bros name alive alongside his cousins and Uncle Benny.
